History of The Mercy Gallery
The Sue and Eugene Mercy, Jr. Gallery is housed in The Richmond Art Center on the campus of The Loomis Chaffee School in historic Windsor, Connecticut. Opened in September 1992, it was named for alumnus and honorary trustee Howard S. Richmond ’35 and his family. The art center is the hub of the visual arts curriculum at Loomis Chaffee.

Named in honor of alumnus and former trustee Eugene Mercy ’55 and his wife, Sue, the Mercy Gallery celebrates the visual arts through eight annual exhibitions presenting a wide range of diversity in medium, artistic endeavor, cultural influence and geographic representation.
