The RAC
The barrel-vaulted ceiling of The Sue and Eugene Mercy, Jr. Gallery is just one of the many features of The Richmond Art Center (RAC)—the hub of the visual arts on campus. The RAC also includes eight spacious media-based studios in sculpture, ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, computer graphics, television production and photography. An intimate, multimedia auditorium with Internet access creates a special space for art history classes, artists’ presentations and other activities. Atop the RAC is a sunny, penthouse apartment with a large workspace for visiting artists to use while in residency, allowing them 24-hour access to the studios below.
